Review - Ultimate Pure Steam Iron by Tefal

The Ultimate Pure Steam Iron by Tefal is a premium garment care tool that stops calc stains on the linen and ensures perfect results.

This iron is Tefal’s most powerful , so it gets very hot extremely quickly. It’s far more powerful and effective than the other irons I tried. It also boasts a MicroScale filter designed to stop scale from building up and ensure pure, filtered steam only – which means very little chance of ending up with limescale stains and nasty marks on your Sunday best.  It works by capturing even the tiniest of scale particles polluting the steam chamber. It’s also anti-drip, to stop water stains and wet splotches.

This Tefal iron not only gives great results, but it tackles every tough crease with total ease. Because it has a Durilium Airglide soleplate, it delivers a much smoother glide, while its 55 grams per minute steam output means it’ll blast out those tough crinkles in no time. It also has a handy precision tip, which makes getting under shirt collars much easier.And, thanks to the anti-calc collector, it prevents the build-up of calcium to keep it working at its best.

The Tefal Ultimate Pure works well on curtains, as well as hanging garments. It has a clearly labelled temperature dial, with thermostat settings labelled especially for linen, cotton, wool, silk and synthetics, and dry ironing without steam. The turbo burst and extra steam button works well on cotton and linen. The water tank capacity is 350ml, and the cord 3m in length – both plenty for everyday use.

Like many irons, you can use it for vertical steaming as well as using a board.  If you have any delicate items to straighten out, the vertical steam option lets you can do so without taking them off the hanger.  

It also has an auto-off function to mitigate the disaster of leaving it on untended (it turns off after 30 seconds when horizontal, and after eight minutes when vertical).

I’m impressed by the lengthy 10-year guarantee on the Tefal Ultimate Pure, and as far as irons go, it’s not unattractive. Plus, thanks to the superior filter, I found I could trust it with my best shirts, which are left looking good as new.
